MARK SEYMOUR
Rex Baker
Rex Baker has been involved in the Portland music scene since the late 70s.
As a design engineer for Sunn and Fender, Rex designed sound equipment, and traveled the country testing new equipment designs with the top bands of the era including Queen, Jethro Tull, Yes, Rush and The Who.
Rex also toured the Pacific Northwest with several bands, beginning in the 70s with “The Rocking Relics”. They opened for many national acts including the Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, and Paul Revere and the Raiders.
During the 80s and 90s Rex continued engineering work with Mackie, Seymour Duncan, Dean Markley and JBL. He also started touring the Pacific NW with “The City Kids Band” and they found steady work as the “house band” aboard the Columbia Gorge Stern wheeler.
In 2005 and 2006, Rex toured with the show band “The Big Picture” performing in the Pacific NW, Palm Springs and Las Vegas.
